Looking for something reallydifferent???unique???special???
Yes we have a Router
What is a router you ask?
A router is a power tool that we use to rout (hollow out) an area in relatively hard materials like wood or plastic.
Routers are mainly used in woodworking, especially cabinetry. Routers can be handheld or fastened cutting end-up in a router table.
We use an advanced Router for a professional quality finish.
Routed Signage
Routed letters are used in a variety of different forms, from 3D wall signs to large external signage. The Sign Place Maitland can create your routed letters in-house, using a special computer-aided machine called a Router. We can cut letters and shapes from a variety of materials including sheets up to 3 m long x 1.5 m wide and in varying thicknesses. Routed letter signs are ideal for wherever a special look is required. Let us make a difference.
Materials
Router Materials: Almost any material can be used in a router machine. It really depends on the application. The most common materials include metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, steel, and titanium, wood, foam, fiberglass and some plastics.
Fabrication
Fabricated letters are similar to routed letters, but are usually larger, thicker and with hollow centres, capable of concealing neon or other internal lighting to create illuminated letters and logos. These types of signs are ideal for building identification, especially when illuminated at night.
- What is Alupanel?
- Will it work on Timber?
- How about Aluminium?
- How about Foam?
- What exactly is Perspex?
Alupanel is a premium quality composite panel made from aluminium composite materials featuring two 0.30mm aluminium sheets, sandwiching a polyethylene core. It has a number of uses and is very widely used in the signage industry because of its durability.
Of course you can use a router to cut timber, but it's not typically used the same way a jigsaw is used. A jigsaw is often used freehand. A router is always used with a jig or pattern, except when doing edge work where the router bit will have a guide bearing. You will get an extremely professional look when using the router on wood.
Using the router we can make almost anything including inserts for packing by using polyethylene foam as it is a durable, lightweight, resilient, closed-cell material. It is often used for packaging fragile goods due to its excellent vibration dampening and insulation properties. It also offers high resistance to chemicals and moisture.
Poly(methyl methacrylate) also known as acrylic or acrylic glass is a transparent thermoplastic often used in sheet form as a lightweight or shatter-resistant alternative to glass. This material gives a very eye catching finish to your design. This material also has many other uses - contact us if you have a project in mind.
